Updates

What's new in ChatsRecall

0.1.66 August 12, 2026

Blank conversations now fill in reliably, duplicate accounts are repaired,

and Claude Code sessions show their files.

Added

  • Claude Code sessions now capture file attachments: images pasted into a prompt and files the agent created or edited. File names and types only; file contents are never read. Sessions saved before this update gain their files automatically on an upcoming sync.
  • A Select all / Unselect all button on the Sync page flips every source switch at once.
  • A conversation whose transcript is not saved yet now explains itself in the Reader: still queued, tried a few times so far, or given up with the recorded reason, instead of a bare "No messages".

Improved

  • Sync runs now rotate which source goes first, so every source gets its fair share of long runs.
  • Automatic transcript backfill focuses on your most recent 18 months. Older conversations stay in your library, and a Full Refresh sync fetches them on request.

Fixed

  • A few unsaveable conversations could silently freeze the entire transcript backlog behind them; large backlogs of blank conversations now fill in over successive syncs (most visible on Perplexity).
  • A sign-in hiccup during sync could create a duplicate "default" account holding an empty copy of your library (seen with Wave meetings). This no longer happens, and existing duplicates are folded back into the real account automatically, keeping the newest content and any pins.
  • Scrolling the library no longer occasionally shows the same conversation twice.
  • The minimized browser window a sync uses is now closed reliably after the run ends.
0.1.65 August 11, 2026

Decide which sources fill your sidebar, and a temporary change of source icons.

Added

  • Pick which sources appear in the sidebar. A new button next to the SOURCES label opens a picker where you turn sources on or off. Hidden sources keep syncing, their conversations stay under All Sources, and search still finds them; only the sidebar row is hidden.
  • The onboarding tour has a new step that introduces the sources list and the visibility picker.

Improved

  • The sidebar starts with six everyday sources visible (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, and Copilot). The rest can be turned on from the picker at any time. Nothing about your saved conversations changes.
  • The source icons across the app have been temporarily changed to a new set.
0.1.64 August 10, 2026

Read AI meetings now show up in your library.

Fixed

  • Read AI meetings were being saved but never shown: sync reported them as saved, yet the library and its counts left them out because Read AI was missing from the list of sources the library displays. Read AI meetings now appear in the library like every other source, including everything synced before this update, with no re-sync needed.
  • The Usage page now includes Read AI alongside your other sources.
0.1.63 August 10, 2026

Read AI meetings now capture their full content, and scheduled syncs clean up after themselves instead of leaving a stray browser window open.

Fixed

  • Read AI meetings were coming through nearly empty: summaries were blank, the conversation itself was missing, and meetings with nothing captured kept being retried on every sync without ever finishing. Read AI sends its data in a different shape than ChatsRecall expected. ChatsRecall now reads what Read AI actually sends, so meeting summaries and everything that was said are captured again.
  • Long sync runs could leave a minimized browser window behind when the browser briefly lost its connection to ChatsRecall partway through, and that window then stayed open forever. ChatsRecall now remembers any window it could not close and quietly closes it once the browser reconnects, after checking that the window is still only showing sync pages.

Improved

  • Sync history is clearer when Read AI cannot be reached: if the browser connector is too old for Read AI (0.1.5 or newer is needed), the sync now says exactly that instead of reporting an empty result, and when ChatsRecall cannot tell whether you are signed in to a source, the message now includes the reason.
0.1.62 August 8, 2026

Opening ChatsRecall while it is already running now brings back the window you already have instead of starting a second copy.

Fixed

  • Launching ChatsRecall from the Start menu while it was already running used to start a second copy of the app, with its own tray icon. The copies then competed for the browser connection and the conversation archive, which could quietly break live capture and make syncs fail. A second launch now simply brings the existing window to the front.

Improved

  • Opening ChatsRecall while it is hidden in the system tray now reopens its window right away, the same as clicking the tray icon.
0.1.61 August 7, 2026

Search results can now open the original page at the exact message, a sync walks all your sources through one tab per browser, and the browser extension updates itself without a restart.

Added

  • Open a search result right at the message that matched. Choose "open in browser" on a result and the original page scrolls to that message, outlines it, and paints your search terms, even when the site loads older messages lazily or collapses long ones. Results from sessions that live only on this computer, such as Claude Code and Cowork, open in the reader as before.
  • The Extensions page now shows the version each connected browser extension is running and points out when a newer one is available.

Early preview: opening a conversation at the exact message is brand new and not finished yet. Some sites may scroll to the wrong spot, skip the highlight, or take a moment to settle; the conversation itself still opens normally. Support is being verified site by site, and highlighting works best with browser extension 0.1.6. Older extensions fall back to a simpler locator that can miss on some pages.

Improved

  • Sync now opens a single window per connected browser and moves through your sources in one tab, instead of piling up tabs as it goes.
  • The library remembers your place. Coming back from a conversation returns you to the same spot in the list, per filter.
  • The browser extension (0.1.6) applies Chrome Web Store updates on its own at the next quiet moment, instead of waiting for a full browser restart.

Fixed

  • The browser chooser for Google AI Mode only offers browsers that can actually open it, and when none of them can, the message names what is missing instead of failing with a generic error.

Removed

  • Google AI Mode in Chrome. AI Mode searches, sync, and New Chat now always use another connected browser, such as Edge, with extension 0.1.3 or newer.
0.1.60 August 4, 2026

Read AI meetings join your library, search results stop drowning in pasted code, and a sync with two browsers connected reads as one clean list of sources.

Added

  • Sync Read AI meetings into your library. Each meeting arrives with its summary, action items, key questions, and who said what. Read AI appears on the Sync page with its switch off until you opt in.
  • The desktop app can now pair with more than one extension build at a time, so a beta or test copy of the browser extension can connect alongside the one from the Chrome Web Store.

Compatibility note: Read AI sync needs browser extension 0.1.5. If you turn the switch on before your extension updates, sync reports a sign-in problem until the update arrives.

Improved

  • Search now focuses on what was said, not on pasted code. Long code blocks no longer flood results for a common identifier, while short snippets such as error messages and one-line commands, plus inline code, stay searchable.
  • Updating to this version rebuilds the search index once. The rebuild is fast even on large libraries, and if it needs more than a moment the app shows a progress window with a time estimate instead of a blank screen.
  • Extensions running an older version are described in plain language on the Extensions page and in the browser chooser: connected and fully working, with the browser name arriving once the extension updates. No more "Legacy connector" labels or raw connector codes.

Fixed

  • With more than one browser connected, a running sync no longer lists every source twice. Each source is now a single row that marks each browser's progress with its own check, spinner, or cross, and expands to show per-browser accounts, counts, and any errors.
0.1.59 August 3, 2026

Google AI Mode joins your library, and conversation cards now tell you at a glance where each conversation came from and what files it carries.

Added

  • Sync Google AI Mode searches into your library, including prompts, responses, and the Google account they belong to.
  • Open a saved AI Mode search back at its original thread in the browser.
  • Searches you delete on Google's side are reconciled into your library during sync.
  • Conversation cards show attachment counts, split between files you attached and files the assistant generated.
  • Each conversation card names its source in text next to the source icon.

Compatibility note: Google AI Mode searches are captured during sync today. Automatic capture as you browse arrives with the next browser connector update.

Improved

  • The sidebar shows how many browser connectors are attached right now, and the count stays current on every page instead of only inside the Developer Center.
  • Conversation cards are denser, with each source's color used as a subtle accent.

Fixed

  • Installing an update no longer stops with a file-in-use error when a browser is connected. The installer now closes the connector helper and waits for it to release before replacing it.

Removed

  • The Library list view and the list/grid switcher. Every conversation now appears in the card grid.

0.1.57 August 1, 2026

Connect every supported browser, jump straight to the search result you need, and keep your library accurate across accounts.

Added

  • Connect multiple Chrome and Microsoft Edge extensions at the same time, with account-safe syncing and browser-specific routing.
  • Use the new Extensions page to see every connected extension and copy the extension link for installation in another browser.
  • Open a matching prompt or message from search results either inside ChatsRecall or at its exact highlighted location in the source browser.

Compatibility note: Multiple extensions can connect and operate now, but ChatsRecall cannot identify a browser until that browser's extension is updated. Older extensions appear as unidentified legacy connectors.

Improved

  • Library search results are ordered newest-first, with relevance used as a secondary ranking factor.

Fixed

  • Internal Claude Cowork *warming* conversations are now cleaned up correctly; the previous implementation mistakenly targeted *warning* titles.

Make search more precise and Claude Cowork conversations more complete and reliable.

Added

  • Claude Cowork web conversations now include uploaded files and files delivered by Cowork.

Improved

  • Conversation timestamps older than four weeks now show a calendar date instead of an increasingly large number of weeks.
  • Claude Cowork conversations now update automatically when work finishes, including when returning to an already-open Chrome tab.
  • Existing Claude Cowork web conversations are refreshed once to add available attachment information.
  • Cowork transcripts now exclude internal skill instructions, system reminders, and tool-processing events.
